Reflection

I truly enjoyed myself while working on this assignment as taking photo and blogging are both my interest. From this assignment, I learnt that to work well with other members is crucial to make the project a successful one. My members and I coordinated really well and went for a trip in Melacca. We were assigned in taking different aspects of photos and we chose them accordingly. Besides, I also learnt the importance to be able to communicate via visual presentation. It is a key for us to determine the beauty of the scenery and to be able to capture the moment at the right time. The concepts of the photos taken has to be clear in order to provide the correct message to the audience. Besides, I learnt that we have to appreciate the culture as it is a treasure for us as Malaysian. To be able to realize the beauty of the Peranakan culture and to capture it is truly a bless.

Reflection

In this project, I learnt that detailed research increases the reliability of the sources. To get the accurate information, it is the best to vary the sources and determine carefully whether the sources are reliable.I appreciate the wisdom of the past to create such a functional and practical building. I learnt that we should set the ancestors as our role models in order to improve ourselves. Besides, the scientific facts of the structure of traditional home are so beneficial for us. I also learnt that practice makes perfect. We practiced our scripts respectively before we started recording our videos.  I learnt that we have to learn the structure of traditional homes to know our roots better. It is a great display of the culture of our past and it enables us to understand our origins better.

Assignment 3- Comic Presentation

Accomplishments

In a group of 4, we create a 3 A3 size comic strip which describes the incidents related to our daily life and occasions or events took place in Taylor's Lakeside University. We prepared the story line based on our observations and the story line described the incident. We illustrated the comic strip based the the character Lat. The comic style was more to the local culture and related to family affair. We included three concepts which are social norms (polygamy, perception towards beauty), physical action to show aggression and love and affection. The storyline was based on the relationship between a couple , the challenges they faced and how the problem was solved by changing the physical appearance due to the social perception.

Reflection

In this project, I learnt to be observant in order to interpret the situation happening around us. Proper communication skills are essential for the solving the conflict between human. It is important to solve the issue by negotiation or discussion rather than using physical cues to show frustration. I also learnt to respect the variety of cultures in Malaysia and to adapt well with the cultures. We need to be open minded to accept difference and challenges in order to improve ourselves. I learnt the skills to convert an incident into a comic strip by various illustrations and colouring to make the comic strip a more interesting one. I learnt the importance of teamwork as my teammates and I worked well together in producing the comic strip. Different people displayed different skills and we have to appreciate each other's talent.
